turquoise-damsel-print-1
Papilionoidea #1 - 9x14 Nepalese Handmade

The first in Barloga Studios’ Papilionoidea series, a tribute to the timeless beauty of butterflies. Papilionoidea is the scientific name for the family group that includes nearly all true butterflies, and this photograph captures one with the careful eye of a naturalist, from its intricate wing patterns and fine scales to the gentle balance of its form. It’s printed on handmade Nepalese paper, whose naturally uneven surface, soft deckled edges, and warm variations in tone give it the charm of a page from a vintage field journal. Each sheet is handmade, so no two prints are exactly alike. Barloga Studios is a Northern California family business, with three generations of photographers who specialize in printing on beautiful, handcrafted papers. Each print is signed and named by hand. Pair it with Papilionoidea #3 for a matching set, or mix it into a natural history wall with the Butterfly and Feather Study prints. It’s a lovely gift for a nature lover, a teacher, or a budding scientist.

Artist: Barloga Studios, Northern California

Medium: Photographic print on handmade Nepalese paper

Size: About 9" x 14" (sizes vary slightly because each sheet is handmade)

Details: Individually signed and named by hand
